Celebrity bloggers and Vanity: Anil Wilson

Any intelligent observer would be able to judge the wheat from the chaff. In case of the blogosphere there seems to be an epidemic of bloggers trying to bask in some glory that their professions have bestowed on them. If there is an Amitabh Bachchan writing his generally pompous and somewhat pontificating blog there is no dearth of some people in 'Traditionally Respectable' professions indulging in the mundane.

One such blog I recently came across was of Mr Anil Wilson , erstwhile principal of St. Stephens and also Vice Chancellor of H.P University at one point of time. If academicians are considered a breed of knowledge bestowers than somehow the writings have to reflect that. In the case of Mr. Wilson sadly this is far from the truth. The recent post has been "To Chemo or not" a poem depicting a dying man's dilemma to undergo chemotherapy . The verse couldn't have been more puerile , the whole attempt has been to pass off mediocrity as something noble, exemplified by the note at the end(Hope this does not turn Shakespeare in his Grave.)One certainly expects better from somebody with a doctorate in Literature , considering the fact that the man also headed an institution which produced some of modern India's brightest and enlightened minds.

The rest of the blog is also pathetically rudderless with a lot of self praising entries depicting a callow nature fed on some grandiloquent flattery. There is an entry where Wilson describes an encounter with Amitabh Bachchan in Shimla , again the post reeks of a mind filled with preconceived notions and fallacies. The whole blog points towards a mind which has got undue attention due to heading a prestigious institution. Institutions should be ranked as per the calibre of their academicians , seeing Mr. Wilson's pop academic theory and carelessly written entries, one wonders on the procedure and rigour applied to choose people heading our elite institutions.

Due respect to who-so-ever you are,

Do you know, that, Dr Anil Wilson is suffering from pancreatic cancer and is fighting it out?

The truth about some people like you is, that they think they are very intelligent to pass judgement on others. We will see how good you will write on a dying bed one day! The day which each one of us has to see.

I don't know what to say to people like you, such hard-hearted and sick creatures roaming here and there. Anyways, we all are praying for him that he get well soon. But, you don't worry, keep examining and observing his capabilities.

good luck!

Kirti: The comment is not about his pancreatic cancer , also it would be better if you would not pass judgement on others without knowing the full background.

As far as calling me hard hearted is concerned , introspect and think for yourself if you have always been kind hearted and benevolent all your time. The comment was about his quality of writing, not his disease . I know a lot about Mr. Wilson , probably a lot more than you anyway. I am not being hard hearted and wish him all the best! however i have every right to project my views and if you feel wronged or anguished? better not read them.

If you think that calling me sick solves the purpose than so be it however going by your definition there can't be many healthy people around you.

1: Some bloggers like you think that they are very inteligent to pass judgement on others without proper research.

2: Secondly, i have every right to call you a sick person. Because, you are! I have read your posts. You see problem in everything and everyone. I am scared of individuals like you. No wonder why they just spend so much time writing blogs! You have problem with your relatives...and your bla, bla goes on for ever.

3: Some bloggers like you create a blog. When someone writes something opposing them, they have a same stand "Better not read it".
Then why at the first place are you creating a blog? Go write a word document for yourself so that none is able to look at it. Funny! :)

Yes, i for one gives a damn to you and your blog. Get off your high horse and do something constructive.

Good bye

Who-so-ever-you-are!

Dear Mr. Wilson:

My Email ID is given on the blog. I can understand the nature of the response and it is no longer a part of the comments section. I would have done the needful earlier , however i was not able to visit the blog for a few days.
